Free will or Destiny

In the days of instant everything, the internet is exploding with instamagic formulas guaranteed to make all your dreams come true. Manifestation is the new mantra! Is it true? Is the choice all ours? Or are we still the puppets of fate whose strings lie in the hands of unknown forces?

We have all found ourselves stuck between ‘maybe it was never destined to happen’, or ‘maybe I don’t have a choice’ at least ten times in a day while dealing with the smallest of things like hoping to catch an empty bus, getting away with an unfinished project, or dealing with a fallout with someone over a silly fight. The argument for destiny is deeply embedded in our psyche, a notion so known to us that we fall back upon it as an excuse for every thing that went wrong. So where does destiny end and free well begin? Dr.Newton clears up the myths and mysteries.

Does destiny exist or everything is free-willed?

Both exist. As long as we don't wake up to our 'real self', we are going to be affected by the forces of destiny. Let us take the analogy of students in a school. The beginners studying in the kindergarten will not have many options and choices and as we advance to the higher classes, students have the free will to choose their subjects to study. Forces of destiny are nothing but our sum total of karmic forces from the past. In the beginning stages of our evolution, the karmic forces of destiny will be affecting us and as the soul advances to the old soul level, there happens the awakening of the wisdom and free will. Old souls create their own reality and participate in co-creating realities with others.

Why are we given free-will? Wouldn't it be nicer to create mankind as inherently good?

'All That Is' or Source is an impersonal creative force which created everything in the universe with pure love and joy. Let us take the example of parents who create their children out of sheer joy and love. The parents give all the free will to their children because they love them unconditionally. There is inherent goodness in the whole of creation. Evil that we see in the world is the misdirection and distortion. As beginner souls who have incarnated on the earth, will be operating with aggression and fear of survival. Several opportunities are given for them to learn the karmic lessons in this school of earth. It takes several lifetimes to reach the stage of maturity to understand it and as we reach to the old soul stage of evolution, free will is recognized.

Since human brain is maybe designed to have hallucinations, what if free will is just an illusion?

Free will is absolute truth. As we expand into higher levels of consciousness, we start creating our destiny by exercising our free will.

Is anybody's destiny defined by forces outside of themselves?

Outside forces which are influencing is inversely proportional to the evolution of the soul. "The wiser the soul, the lesser the impact of outside forces." Unfinished business and unresolved issues from the past lives are the karmic forces which influence one’s current life. However, all these external influences fade away as the soul perfects the lessons on this earth. But the higher truth is there is no outside force which can influence our present life. Not to exercise free will is also a choice made by few souls because of their own free will.

How can some people predict the future and be absolutely correct about it?

All possibilities and probabilities exist for all of us. Those who are able to tune into the highest possible futures are able to receive the information through precognitive ability and that's why they are able to predict the exact future. Take the analogy of two ships which are coming towards each other but there is a hill which is blocking the view. There is a high probability of collision of the two ships. But someone who can be in a helicopter can view the possibility of this collision well ahead in time and alert the captains of the ships of this possible danger.  Those who are spiritually sensitive or meditators can develop the faculty of precognition.

What is the concept of 'surrendering?'

Surrender is harnessing the universal collective forces in the creation process. For example, a person intends to create a project which costs lots of money. After the initial steps of intending and putting all the effort in creating an astral template, surrenders to the collective force of the universe. It is like swimming in a river. At some places you will be exercising your free will  and at other places where the current is strong, you surrender to the river and allow the river to take you forward. We do exactly the same way in our life too; there is a time we need to exercise our free will and to surrender to the higher collective forces.

Do you have any experience or knowledge of "Gods/lords of karma?"

There are astral beings in the astral world who act like guides. In the life after death states, those guides will make us review our life and facilitate this process. They don't judge us; they only make us see what we have learned and what we have not from that past life. Some of these astral beings are known as Lords of Karma who reside in the higher astral worlds. They evaluate our evolution. They can also offer guidance regarding the next incarnation cycle, along with helping us in the selection process of our parents, country, religion, gender and situations based on our karma that is accumulated from all the past lifetimes.

How can one consciously create their destiny?

One stumbling block in creating our own destiny is unfinished and unresolved past. Meditation is like a vacuum cleaner which eliminates past imprints. Daily Meditation practice and cultivating the awareness will remove the negative thoughts and limiting beliefs.  Meditation can help us focus on the present. By being in the present moment and using our free-will, we can intend to create what we desire in our life because thoughts create reality. After adding the positive feeling and emotional energy to the primary thought that you created, visualize in your mind's eye what you would like to create. Now surrender it to the collective forces of the universe to join you in the co-creation process.

The Hidden Signs & Symbolism Behind Trump’s Win

(As told to Thriive team by Kaya—Global expert on Dreams Sign & Symbology)

God gave us many faiths but only one world where we all co-exist (Jonathan Sacks) and good leaders can come together to make a peaceful co-existence possible. With the emergence of the new leader of the United States of America, we got a chance to speak with Francis L. Kaya, an author and leading global expert on the interpretation of dreams, symbols and signs to understand the signs that pointed to Trump’s win, long before Americans made their final choice.

Reflections of America’s inner negative aspects
As the voice of beauty and awakening speaks softly, Kaya began to explain his thoughts, “A country is like a person that has its own personality. There are aspects to it, just like there are, to a person. And while we do attach the aspects of overconfidence, superficiality, emotions, and ego with Donald Trump, it is also an important message to the world. It could be very surprising, but I dreamt about this six years ago. So, I knew a long time ago that this program was supposed to happen and what is happening right now, is the opening of the consciousness of America and the rest of the world. On one hand this is creating a shift in people’s lives; on the other hand, this is also the reflection of the negative personality of America, which is lack of practicality, selfishness and self-centeredness.”

Trump & 9/11 as Symbols
“If we talk about the world of symbols, Donald Trump is a symbol of money and power, that’s why a very strong symbol. Even though his name suggests money and power, money is not negative in itself, money is energy. It is our intention that makes it negative. It is the manifestation of who we are.”

The madness of this planet after all is a result of us failing to come to a balance with ourselves. This has been once again shown to the world on the same date of 9/11 that we have somewhere been imbalanced. In the world of symbols and signs, Kaya’s interpretation opens up a new thread of thoughts, “When we talk about science, this is a message to the world about September 11. The entire world would remember this day’s destiny in the form of two major events - the emergence of Trump and PM Modi doing a shift in the Indian economy. If we talk about symbolism, then it could be gathered that Americans don’t want to know the beautiful qualities of the feminine energies. That’s also the biggest aspect of the American society. There is too much masculine energy and there is a lot of over emissivity of that energy.”

The Positive and the Negative
Is there always a silver lining in thick black clouds?

The slight pause before he began to speak again was a silent search for hope, “I don’t see Trump’s presidency as something dramatic. I see this as a message of evolution for the planet. Whether you are African-American, Chinese, Jewish, Indian, Japanese or anybody else, America is made of good people from all over the world and there is no reason why this has to stop.”

“I am not going to ignore the positive sides of the country where people are inherently good and have family values. I believe that negativity only exists to awaken positive intentions. Obama was great positivity and Trump’s energy seems to be negative. The silver lining, even in that, is that he has intense energies and could do some very good things. The world is coming down and he needs to pick it up, find a balance and middle path. In real life, prosperity will continue to grow but it is the balance that we need to seek.”

“Having said that, I also believe that negativity exists to awaken positive intentions. Now for the first time in the history of America, Americans are seeing their downside and the aspects that they need to work on. It is more like a wake up call. I think this is a profound reflection of today’s society where the country has reached the top of capitalism and this will create a more profound mission for change.”

“I sincerely hope that people can become spiritual pushing ahead equality and beautiful objectives in the positive direction. It is not about doing mere rituals. We also must understand that evil is always educational, it is always constructive and prepares us for something better. And that’s why spirituality is so important.”

So, can Trump ever become spiritual or try to balance it all out?

“Donald Trump, like everybody else has got some great qualities as well. And probably, this is my hope: that he is not going to be that extreme because extremity doesn’t help. Trump is only showing more of his negative side at this moment and it is important for people to not panic and become extremists. We have constantly seen changes in the history and once again this is a time for change, for the opening of the consciousness of America and the rest of the world.”

A Final message
“At the end of our lives, it is not our bank accounts and it is not what we have done, but how we have done it. We take memories with us and therefore, we need to understand that when we do things, we do it with our souls. Something that is good for ourselves must be good for others and if it is not good for others, it is not good for us. That’s what we should always be thinking.  This is my message to everyone.”

Do you find yourself stuck with anxiety, resentment, and inner conflict?

By C G Mayya

Ross felt perfectly normal one morning. After all, it was the beginning of summer and the fading spring season had painted the landscape around his office with greenery and colorful flowers. Turning his attention from the trees outside to his smartphone, Ross glanced across a posting on social media by two of his close friends. It was a picture of them having a good time at one of his favorite places. He felt a surge of emotions, a sudden twinge in his heart.
Before he even realized it, his thumbs hammered a sarcastic comment on their posts (the danger of instant electronic communication) and was beset with feelings of shame soon after. His “critic” had now shifted from his friends onto himself. And like a catchy tune that plays on and on in your head without any conscious control, he was riddled with self-critical thoughts for the rest of the day.
On the other side of the city, Dorothy, was happily packing lunch for her husband of 20 years when she became aware of a text message beeping on his cell phone, which he had left behind on the dining table. She noticed a message from his secretary, a lively young woman. It struck a tone that seemed to Dorothy more personal than professional. She saw her husband off after lunch with a hidden heartbreak. But all through the day, she was seized with anxiety, fueled by imagining her husband’s extramarital relationship.
The stories of Ross and Dorothy play out in all our lives, with varying scripts and intensities and we may have found ourselves asking these questions: Why is it so hard to free ourselves from these states of minds? What is the nature of these emotional states we find ourselves stuck in?

Could our minds be dis-eased too?
For the human brain to undergo physiological and psychological evolution, it is natural to feel pain, especially when we inflict it on others. As stated by neurologist V. S. Ramachandran in his book
Tell-Tale Brain, awareness of our actions and mental patterns causes many of us to shift the conflicting attention from without to within. Our minds are then “dis-eased” by this inner conflict or possessed by a self-judgmental and raging inner critic. In modern and psychological definitions these are referred to as stress, anxiety, depression, and other states which obscure the heart and mind’s openness.
Is having hope the only hope?
Many of us have found comfort in different approaches from psychology, spirituality and self-help for dealing with such inner challenges. Through these, we seek a permanent state of mind where we never again have to deal with these mental patterns. It is the ground where “having hope” becomes your only hope.
But if the nature of your faith is propelled by your own glimpses of freedom or through your own unfolding realization, then you maybe open to seeing that the heart of all our problems lies in the very seeking state of mind (in the present) which looks to the future for a permanent state of freedom and joy
Can we learn to look at life unmasked, without attempting to manipulate it?
Yes, we can! And when we can shift our perspective in such a way, we even step out of any spiritual or philosophical concepts that we have subscribed to and move toward realizing our own solo path. As long as we are committed to this kind of moment-to-moment discovering of inner freedom, we can see for ourselves that Free Mind is not to be found elsewhere, but right where we are and right within the situation we are faced with. This is what the true practice of mindfulness enables.
It is only then that we are able to truly find inner freedom, no matter what our life situation may be and no matter what state of mind we find ourselves stuck in.
